Our target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, and to meet the accessibility requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) as they apply to our website.
What we do
In building and maintaining this site we work to:
- Use semantic HTML landmarks and a logical heading structure so the site works with screen readers.
- Provide descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
- Maintain sufficient colour contrast between text and its background.
- Ensure the site can be operated with a keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators.
- Provide a “skip to main content” link on every page.
- Respect the operating-system “reduced motion” preference and keep animation minimal and non-essential.
- Use responsive layouts that adapt to different screen sizes and zoom levels without loss of content.
Ongoing effort
Accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a one-time task. We review the site periodically and address issues as they are identified. Some content, or third-party components introduced in future, may not yet fully meet our target — where that is the case, we will work to correct it.
